Why choose us?

Learner Centric Approach

Learner Centric Approach

A 4-year-old child picks up Aihanmi Ikkyo Omote after hearing a Lion story, while a 40-year-old adult refines his grip for Morotedori Ikkyo Omote. We tailor lessons to each student’s age and needs, using everything from stories to hands-on practice for effective learning.

Conducive Setting

Conducive Setting

A welcoming environment with a positive atmosphere. We provide a range of carefully chosen materials, equipment, and resources, all designed to enhance learning and ensure safety. The space is thoughtfully set up to support tots, children, teens and adults of varying skill levels.

Inspiring Teachers

Inspiring Teachers

Fun, passionate, yet highly demanding, our teachers bring their unique personalities and charisma to engage students. Their enthusiasm and dedication inspire children and adults to develop a deep passion for Aikido and a love for continuous growth.

Building Excellence

Building Excellence

Rome was not built in a day, and neither is excellence. It is all about the details. We create checklists, we name each step in a technique, and provide specific scores for grading. We encourage children and adults alike to challenge themselves, aim higher, and keep pushing their limits.

Comprehensive Support

Comprehensive Support

We support our students in every way: updating resources, tracking progress, offering extra help when needed, and keeping in touch regularly. At aikiForest, we stay flexible and adjust to meet our students' (and parents') changing needs.

Holistic Development

Holistic Development

Life at aikiForest is about Aikido — and so much more! Besides classes, events, seminars, and overseas trips, we provide internships, trainee teacher opportunities, and continuous support for our students, from their early years as children to adulthood, even as they venture abroad.

Aikido is an art to master the way of breaking fall so that I do not get injured easily. I like being an assistant in class and I get to reinforce my learning by going through the basics with the juniors.

Justen, 15 years old

Questions on your mind?

Aikido (Japanese: 合気道, aikidō; Chinese: 合气道, héqìdào) is a Japanese martial art created during the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba. It focuses on blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on, then applying techniques like joint locks and throws. Aikido has no competition. The ultimate goal of Aikido training is not the perfection of a step or skill, but rather the improvement of one's character according to the rules of nature.

At aikiForest, you can start as young as 3.5 years old in our Tot classes. Aikido is suitable for all ages and genders, so as long as you can move, you can do Aikido!

You will pick up breakfall techniques, learn self-defense skills, and heighten your situational awareness. But there is more—expect to improve your physical fitness, sharpen your mental discipline, have plenty of fun, and build lasting friendships along the way!

The duration of all classes is 1 hour. The class schedules for our various outlets can be found on the Programmes page.

Class fees are collected quarterly or every 3 months. If you join midway through the term, the class fee will be pro-rated for that period.

Make-up lessons are available to fit your schedule. You can carry forward up to 4 make-up lessons to the next term.

No prerequisites at all! Just wear comfortable t-shirt and long pants on that day, and you are all set to go. Don't forget to bring your water bottle for hydration!
